d’Heudieres Louis
I am a composer based in London.
My most recent music uses audio as a notational medium to explore performers' individual and personal interpretations of sounds. I have also been interested in the past in rehearsal as performance, personal relationships with pieces of music, and vulnerability and failure in concert settings.
I have worked with soloists Weston Olencki, Alice Purton, Juliet Fraser, Jennifer Walshe, Samuel Stoll, Joseph Houston, Antoine Francoise, Eliza McCarthy, Gwenaelle Rouger, Ilze Ikse, Louise Hjorth Hansen, and ensembles Nadar, soundinitiative, WeSpoke, Maulwerker, jetpack bellerive, orkest de ereprijs, Retro Disco, x.y ensemble, Scapegoat, Atlas Ensemble, Bastard Assignments, Hermes Experiment, London Contemporary Orchestra Soloists, Lontano, The Manon Quartet, and SWR Experimentalstudio Freiburg.
My music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Resonance 104.4 FM, and DR P2 (national Danish radio), and has been released on the Danish CDKlassisk label.
I study for a PhD at Bath Spa Univeristy with James Saunders and Matthew Shlomowitz.
I co-curate WEISSLICH, an experimental music and performance art concert series based in London and Manchester, with Michael Baldwin and David Pocknee. I am part of the team that organises Kammer Klang, one of London's foremost new music series at Cafe Oto.
