The sound artist Lasse-Mark Riek and music pedagoge, Thomas M. Seifert have created an accoustic portrait of the Rhine river by recording 21 soundscapes along the river.
Via the app "MyCity MySounds", which was designed by ZKM, the public has the opportunity to experience there 21 stations along the Rhine in a new context - during a soundwalk through the city.
The walk is called "rhein_strom" and was shown at the KAMUNA (Karlsruhe Night of the Museums) to a wide audience along with a presentation and a workshop of "Rhine 4.0 – Anthropocene begins with Tulla". The walk is still downloadable for everyone using the MyCity, MySounds app.
4 easy steps to listen to the soundwalk:
1. download the application MyCity MySounds
2. click on "Download walk" and select "rhein-storm"
3. Download WALK
4. Select the walk from the front page
voilà! You are ready to start the soundwalk. Move through the map and select the audio files you want to listen to. For each station, there is a small description and photo in order to help you visualise the spot.
