As part of the Interfaces project, the application "MyCity, MySounds" created by ZKM, was further developed in collaboration with Onassis Stegi and Medea Electronique. In addition, a series of events and residencies were organised by ZKM | Center for Art and Media and Onassis Stegi in order to create new works for this app. 

The application
This geo-reffering application available for smartphones (but also accessible online) gives the opportunity to any user to create a soundwalk based on the map of a particular place.
Recorded sounds, music pieces or even dialogues or talks can be uploaded for a specific location, or more, creating a path of sounds and tracks that can be played by anyone who is on this specific location or accesses the map online.
All over the city and free and available at anytime, the application “MyCity, MySounds” gives everyone the opportunity to listen to a city, in the “here-and-now” of contemporary music creation.

A tablet station with the application was exhibited in the Interfaces Conference in 2020.

8 composers created miniature compositions for 8 specific urban spaces in Thessaloniki. The compositions were then recorded by dissonArt ensemble and uploaded on the app.
